The horn isn't merely a sheath
from a ram, or something with reeds
brass and shining 

It's a piano, a cymbal, 
glockenspiel and theremin 
-insert instrument here-

I paused when I kicked a can
and my skin tingled, my hair stood 
on end, or the whine of the wheels 
on the subway car singing 

Like wind through my window 
yours, ours, the needles of a Joshua

I paused when I kicked the can
and the walls fell down.
